project: emb.FAC · 1999 · emblematic object factory

  • project duration
    two months
  • professor
    dennis mann

The process of assembling objects, with the marshalling of materials, combined with an abstracted contextual influence generated both the form and the process of this project. The assemblage of everyday woodworker's supplies such as clamps, wood strips, and glue created an initial conceptual model, while modulating the overall exterior form. Overlapping orthogonal fields arose from the context, creating mass-void relationships in both plan and section, permeating all systems of the project from structure to skin to HVAC and procession.
